The "Marabou Salmon Charlie" is a lightly dressed variant of the famous bonefish pattern Crazy Charlie. The image here looks quite full or even over dressed but once wet and while the fly is being retrieved this fly becomes very slim. During each striping pause the marabou does swell back up to something like it's dry shape to create a most fish enticing, pulsating effect. There is plenty of flash in both the body wrap (Diamond Braid) and crystal flash to make this fly appear to be something akin to a struggling baitfish or shrimp in truly salty and clear waters. The lack of weight, if tied with bead chain eyes, allows for the sneak style of presentation and has fooled more than a few bream in the "upper branches" of edgwater snag's. Aside from black bream, tarwine, bonefish, whiting, mullet, threadfin salmon, mangrove jack, dart and smallish golden trevally have been taken with this pattern. A clear intermediate line in weights from #5 and up will do a good job of presenting this little morsel and a fast sinking line (airflo Di3 or Di7 for example) will take the Marabou Salmon charlie down to the bottom of snags or gutters with out having to resort to over weighting the fly itse
