Tied in both brown and olive this is a deadly fly during a dun hatch. It is easy to see and works well all day during the mayfly season. Many fussy trout have been undone with this pattern. Apply floatant to the ball and hackle only.
-
Effective dun pattern that sits low on the water to imitate the hatching dun. Cast in front of rising fish. Sometimes twitch as the fish approaches will induce a take.

These spinner patterns were originally tied for the Western Lakes area but will work anywhere. The brown spinner with it's dubbed body floats better in most conditions whereas the black spinner is best in calm conditions when fish can be touchy. The wing on these spinners is designed to be highly visible in most light conditions.

Excellent spinner imitation when red spinners are about in mid spring - early summer and again in late summer early autumn.

Adult damsel pattern tied with a foam body for better floatation. Effective when fish are feeding on adult damsel in late spring and right through summer on warm still days.

An effective pattern for slower moving low country South Island (NZ) rivers especially the Mataura. Try letting the thorax of the fly break through the skin of the water surface by only applying folatant to hackle and tail. This is a good method of dealing with trout that are feeding on emerging duns. Other Adams patterns are; Hairwing Adams (D60) and Adams Irresistible (D12) under the Wulffs, Humpys & Hairwings heading.
